Scott Elementary School

  • Attention Elementary School Parents, Guardians, and Staff,

The Harrisburg School District is in the planning stage of relocating fifth grade to our elementary schools for the 2022-23 school year. Currently, our elementaries are kindergarten through fourth grade, and our middle schools are grades five through eight. We believe relocating fifth grade to our elementaries will help us to increase academic and other supports to our fifth graders and provide a stronger educational experience. All fourth grade students will remain at their current elementary school for fifth grade. Students will not transfer to another elementary school for fifth grade unless they apply to Marshall Math Science Academy, which involves a specialized curriculum. Additional information will be shared at the April Board and Receiver's Business Meeting.

    Mr. Eric Turman, Superintendent

  • Greetings from the Principal’s desk.  I am Eugene Spells and I would like to welcome all of our students back for the upcoming school year. Since the end of last school year a number of changes have taken place in the Harrisburg School District.  I would like to introduce myself as the building Principal of Scott Elementary School.

I would encourage all parents to begin preparing your children for the upcoming school year by sharing the importance of school and coming to school ready to learn. In preparation for this school year, be sure to read to/with your child for a few minutes each day.  This will help to improve their ability and enjoyment of reading.  It is also important for our students to get a good night’s rest, as it helps students to be more focused during the school day.

As the summer winds down and you continue to prepare your children for the upcoming school year, the Principal, Teachers, and Support Staff at Scott School have all been working hard to prepare for your children this school year.  We are looking forward to an exciting and productive school year!

    Eugene Spells, Principal
