    The following services can be provided by your guidance counselor:

    Academic Services

    • Enrollment and course scheduling for students
    • Orientation/registration for new students and 9th graders
    • Academic course planning selection, and scheduling changes
    • Process Vo-Tech applications
    • Facilitate and/or interpret all types of testing (i.e., PSSA, PSAT, SAT, ASV, AB, Advanced Placement)
    • Assist with the IEP process for special needs students through referrals for testing and evaluation
    • Process grades and credits towards graduation
    • Keep cumulative and permanent student records updated
    • Send transcripts to post-secondary institutions and employers
    • Communicate academic progress with students, staff, and parents via quarterly progress reports and reports cards
    • Arrange and conduct parent/teacher conferences and serve as a liaison between students,parents, and staff
    • Maintain a web page for current guidance information
    • Post information on summer programs available to high school students

    Personal And Social Services

    • Serve as members of the High School Student Assistance Team
    • Conduct individual or group counseling
    • Counsel students with personal, mental health and substance abuse concerns
    • Make referrals to agencies such as Mental Health and Children & Youth for students in crisis need

    Career Development

    • Assist students with course selection and planning related to their career goals
    • Administrator and Interpret an interest inventory for career research and serve as a resource to students and faculty advisors
    • Schedule visits from college, technical schools,and military representatives
    • Assist students with career related needs such as shadowing and college visits
    • Coordinate the student application process for colleges and post secondary training
    • Host Financial Aid Information night for parents
