• Dear Benjamin Franklin Students and Families,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the Principal of Benjamin Franklin Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. I feel very fortunate to have been a part of this school, as a teacher and then as an assistant principal, for the past ten years. I am excited and eager to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success. As a parent, I recognize and understand the importance of a strong home-school connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher, and as your lead educational partner, I am committed to ensuring that your child’s academic, social, and emotional needs are met at Benjamin Franklin.

I want to highlight some important information for the start of the new school year:

    • The first student day will be on Monday August 29, 2022, beginning at 8:50am with breakfast being served from 8:35am to 8:50am.
    • The school day will end at 3:50pm. It is imperative that all students are in school the entire day from when the bell rings at 8:50am to 3:50pm. Students that lose instructional time, by coming to school late or leaving early, miss out on fundamental reading and math skills and the chance to build a habit of good attendance that will carry them into college and careers.
    • Please join us on Thursday August 25, 2022 from 9am-11am or 2pm-4pm for our Open Building Day. Families and students may tour the building and find their new classroom.
    • Our annual Back to School Night will be held on Tuesday September 13, 2022, from 4:15pm-6:15pm. Families and students may visit their classrooms and meet the teachers of Ben Franklin.

All of us at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School are eager and excited to begin what promises to be a fantastic school year! This year is going to be amazing as we provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, and help them build relationships while making real-world connections. As your principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors is excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I am excited to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my child-centered approach to supporting all of our students. Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible. Stay tuned and get involved in all the exciting activities that are being planned for this upcoming school year and I look forward to meeting you soon!

    Sincerely,

    Ms. Nicole Snook, Principal
