The Harrisburg School District recognizes that student wellness and proper nutrition are related to student's social, emotional, physical well being, growth, development, and readiness to learn. The Board is committed to providing a school environment that promotes student wellness, proper nutrition, nutrition education, and regular physical activity as part of the total learning experience. In a healthy school environment, students will learn about and participate in positive dietary and lifestyle practices that can improve student achievement.
We serve a well-balanced meal in accordance with the National School Lunch Program. Our meals at breakfast and lunch offer low fat, low sodium, low cholesterol products and a variety of entrees, vegetables, fruits and milk throughout the school year. We provide the following services.

Our Mission
To provide free breakfast and lunches for ALL students through the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs and Summer Feeding Program. Our program is more than just preparing foods and sending the students on their way. We try not only to satisfy their appetites, but to educate them in healthy eating habits, nutrition, and provide exposure to the creative world of food.
