  • Special Business Meeting

Harrisburg School District’s Court Appointed Receiver will convene a special virtual Business Meeting on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 6:00 pm. During the meeting, Dr. Janet Samuels will appoint Mr. Eric Turman as the next Superintendent of the Harrisburg School District. Mr. Turman surfaced as the finalist after a rigorous national superintendent’s search, conducted in collaboration with the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, that attracted candidates from across the country and region. We were seeking a proven student-centered leader who would embrace our school community, lead with integrity, and pursue continual growth and improvement for the District, and we found that leader in Mr. Turman.

The special Business Meeting also includes a Budget Workshop to discuss the proposed final budget for the 2021-2022 School Year, information regarding ways the proposed budget is designed to ensure equity for students, designated funding for music and the arts, STEM, athletics, facilities, and many other items to support high quality teaching and learning throughout our school district.
