Profile in Courage Essay Contest--Due January 18, 2019
First-place winner receives $20,000. Second-place winner receives $1,000. Five finalists receive $500 each. Eighteen essayists receive awards of $100.
Who: The contest is open to United States high school students in grades nine through twelve attending public, private, parochial, or home schools; US students under the age of twenty enrolled in a high school correspondence/GED program; and US citizens attending schools overseas.

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program-Due January 4, 2019
10,000 renewable scholarship
High school seniors who demonstrate exceptional leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship are invited to apply for the 2017 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program. This program annually provides college-bound students with $10,000 renewable scholarships-up to $40,000 total per recipient-and supports them as they lead and serve in college and beyond.

PA JCI Senate Scholarship Program--January 11, 2019

Who:  12th grade senior students who are a resident who are residents of Pennsylvania
Academic Requirements:  Must submit  an official transcript
Three Reference letters
Submit a personal statement

Mensa Education and Research Foundation Scholarships --Due January 15, 2019

Amount:  varies
Who:  The applicant must be enrolled, for the academic year following the award (2017-2018), in a U.S. post secondary accredited degree program.
Academic Requirements:  N/A
Essay:  Submit 550 typed essay that describes the applicant's career, vocational, or academic goals.
Other:  The applicant must currently reside in the Mensa Local Group area.

University of Pittsburg-Greensburg Campus Full Tuition Scholarship--Deadline January 22
Eligible students must meet the following criteria:
  • High School cumulative academic GPA of 3.8 or higher

  • ACT of 26 or higher or  SAT Total score (EBRW+Math) of 1250 or higher

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident 

  • Apply to Pitt-Greensburg and be admitted by January 15, 2019. 
          Applications for the scholarship must be postmarked no later than January 22, 2019.  

Ron Brown Scholar Program--Due January 9, 2019
Amount:  $10,000 annually
Who:  Must be a current African-American high school senior
GPA:  3.0 or higher
Activities:  Must be an exceptional leader and participate in community service activities.
Other:  Must have financial need
Alexander Hamilton Scholarship-Due January 30, 2019
